I carry it al lot …
I carry it al lot around, because it´s cheap and light. It´s not very sophisticated concerning handling and buttons. The worst photo is the one you do not capture.

    I owned the D40 8 …
I owned the D40 8 month ago along with the kit-lens 18-55mm for 250 Euro and I love it. So there is much money left for Speedlight and aditional, frankly a bit more expensive AF-S lenses.

You never get lower noise-level from any DX camera with more mpixel.

A full-HD Plasma shows only 2 Megapixel no matter what resolution your gear can take. The noise is always visible.

1/500s shutterspeed with flash is incredible. You don´t get that syncspeed even from the D3 ;-)

    how bout the 6 …
how bout the 6 megapixels? versus every compact camera having at least 10 or 12 now, i’m just wondering if there’s really a day-to-day difference between 6 and 10.
    thanks

I have a 4MP camera. It sure as ain’t a dSLR, but it is pretty goood considering I got it for $37.
It takes AMAZING pictures, when people see the big “4.0MP” printed on the side, they’re like wtf??? And i show them pictures on it the best i can, and lecure them about how megapixels is just a measure of how big the picture is.

    Don’t mention it.

    Don’t mention it.

I just wanted to put that out there because many people think that megapixels is the only measure of a good camera.

    All megapixels mean …
All megapixels mean is how much the picture can be blown up.

It has no bearing on image clarity or overall quality.

Some of the crappiest point-and-shoot cameras on the market have more megapixels than the D40.

Oh, and 6 megapixels is enough for a 32″ print… That’s not small.

    You need a night …
You need a night end SLR if you want over 2FPS
