    This is fake …
    This is fake Schubert. I studied Schubert and found this video offensive.This song is commercially manipulated into another Rieu over-electronically miked,saccharin romantic ‘melody’ as James Last used to do. Do we really need the ‘tearful’ audience for ‘pseudo heavenly effect? She IS a pleasant singer but no depth. Rieu shows us again his ‘violin ‘ playing is fifth rate however much cheesy emotion his face makes.
    Do yourselves a favour-listen to: kirchshlager ave and kirshlager rastlose

    Von Backofenspray: Ich kann das auch nicht erklären, ich weiss einfach wer ein guter Mensch ist, wer nicht und wer besonders gut ist. I ch habe auch erst vor gar nicht langer Zeit herausgefunden, dass ich sowas wie ein “Sentinel” bin und in andere Leute hineinschauen kann. Ich mag diese Begabung überhaupt nicht und das machte mir auch nur Probleme. Aber ich weiss, wer so insbrünstig oder eben so emotional überzeugt dieses spezielle Lied auf diese Weise singt, ..mehr Zeichen hab ich nicht

    Wieso ist jemand der bei dem Lied nicht Flennt kein Mensch. Das ist Schwachsinn. Das Lied ist an sich schön wenn an dem eine richtige Stimme verleit, doch das mit den Tränen muss nicht sein.
    @All
    Nur weil die Tussi Blond ist und ein weises Kleid trägt muss ist sie kein Engel, sie sieht auch nicht aus wie einer. Die MEnschheit hat eine Seltsame Vorstellung vonEngeln, Blond mit locken etc . Oh bin ich nun kein Mensch? Great!

    Maxieroyal-Why do u …
    Maxieroyal-Why do u assume these people would’nt like Stravinsky/Mahler? Stravinsky’s Firebird is very tuneful,and Mahler 5 adagietto (Death in Venice film) became popular.He treats his ‘target’ audience like they are incapable of listening to more than cut up bits of already famous pieces everyone already knows and thats a real shame and uderestimation of people. He could use his fame to expand their taste-but he won’t. He sticks rigidly to ‘I like what I know’.So no Tchaikovsky Vln Cto.

    @cheamverdi No …
    @cheamverdi No offense, but you’re making the classical mistake of applying high brow standards to Rieu’s music. He perfectly well knows that he’s not up to playing Mahler 5. And why should he? People love what he does. The man has a target audience, you know. Those people don’t love Stravinsky. So why should he be playing it?
    Personally I admire him for what he has achieved. He opens up the world of classical music to many more people than 50.000 intellectual lectures a year on the topic do.

    Incredible.Between her and Carmen Monarcha (different rendidtion) its hard
    to make my mind up. One thing is certain
    they are both incredible talents. If you are
    not moved by their song something is
    wrong with you

    Why is it relevant …
    Why is it relevant he has sold so many tickets? That does’nt make him a good musician or respectful of the music. Fact is he often cuts up classical pieces and makes once great pieces all sound like sanitised ‘lovers music’ (as he does here) or dissect tunes from their original context making them into clappalong pap.Ave Maria here is turned into candyfloss.
    Note Rieu avoids anything which cannot be turned into this warped candyfloss view of music.Thats why you wont hear him do symphonies.
