    Nikon Camera?

Posted by admin on January 24th, 2010 and filed under nikon camera | 2 Comments »

I want a Nikon camera, at least 7 megapixels. I want it to have a rechargeable battery. It needs to be under $200 (and hopefully around $150) If anyone could give me a website that has one of these cameras i would greatly appreciate it. =)

What Nikon camera is equivalent to the Olympus E3.?

Posted by admin on December 24th, 2009 and filed under nikon camera | 1 Comment »

I am wondering what Nikon camera is most similar to the Olympus E3 in quality, performance and features – not concerned with the price equivalent.

    http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare_post.asp?method=sidebyside&cameras=oly_e3%2Cnikon_d90%2Cnikon_d300%2Cnikon_d700%2Cnikon_d3%2Cnikon_d3x&show=all

Because of the smaller sensor in the E3 it is hard to say. In features I think that the Nikon D300 would be a good equivalent but most of Nikon’s current DSLRs are going to have better resolution.

How to convince my parents to have a DSLR Nikon camera?

Posted by admin on December 21st, 2009 and filed under nikon camera | 4 Comments »

So, Christmas is near and I asked my parents if I can have a Nikon D40x camera because it is cheap. Besides, I’m just a teenager and I’m just starting. But I don’t know if they would approve.

P.S I am an honor student and if you told me to be good in your studies, well I am already trying.
    Sorry! I’m not from America..

Sweetheart … and I offer that as a general term of endearment. It is NOT intended to be offensive, obnoxious, condescending, or sexist … though, I must admit, I have yet to use it to an adult male, apart from my own two grown up sons … I don’t believe there’s any reason for you to be so defensive. There are few of us who would jump down your throat and tell you to be good in your studies though, it does go without saying, that you should do your best, but I’d suggest that you should mention it to your parents. Sorry, I don’t know them or I might have tried for you. <grin>

You could help your cause by finding some websites that talk about the Nikon D40X … reviews, etc., and find sites that offer it for sale. This would give them some sort of idea as to how much it’s likely to cost, and they could assess whether or not they feel you’re worth it (I’m sure you are) or whether you’ve been naughty or nice this past year.

You might like to show them what the camera is capable of, and tell them how much more you’ll love them if they get you one. (Maybe a few promises of what you’ll do around the house will help here. lol.)

I’m afraid I’m the other side of the Atlantic ocean to yourself so you may have better luck in finding sites that are specific to America. I have listed a few sites below, though, that might help you put your case together.

I wish you the very best of luck, dear lady.

What is a better digital camera to go with, Canon or Nikon?

Posted by admin on December 15th, 2009 and filed under nikon camera | 4 Comments »

Is Nikon or Cannon better? Why do people buy SLR and Nikon cameras when they can buy 8-10MP Sony Cybershots which also take video?
Im just wondering, I dont know the differences between why people go with SLR over point and shoot sony cybershot type cameras with 8MP or more.

These are two fine manufacturers and each has its own fans. Sometimes they get pretty attached to their choice and get rather excited about the preferences. Please take that into account.

I use both point & shoot and DSLR cameras.

DSLRs have bigger sensors so their 6-10 megapixel images are of better quality than those from small cameras using small sensors (1/2.5"). And the DSLRs allow more manual control and the use of many different kinds of lenses for exactly the right composition.

Of course, if you don’t want to really dig into learning photography, and if video in a small camera is more important than lots of manual control, go with the point & shoot. It’s the right camera for you. The extra money you would have spent for the DSLR and all those lenses can find a better use!

Which Nikon camera is equivalent or slightly better than the Nikon D200?

Posted by admin on December 12th, 2009 and filed under nikon camera | 3 Comments »

My Nikon D200 was stolen, which I loved a lot, and now I am looking to replace it. The D200 was discontinued, but perhaps I can still buy it. The D300 is a little more than I want to spend on a camera. The D90 and D3000 seems like a good step down, but am I wrong? They are smaller and a lot cheaper than the D200. So I am confused. Which Nikon camera is equivalent or slightly better than the Nikon D200? Your help is greatly appreciated.

I’m not too familiar with Nikon, but the D300 is definitely a major upgrade from the D200, I would go as far as saying it was a fairly revolutionary step up. The D90 is a nice camera with some HD video capture capabilities, and I would set it fairly level with the D90. I’m not familiar with the D3000, if you mean the D5000, then it’s below the D90 (the D5000 as I’m aware is an upgrade for the D60).

One of the main differences is that the D5000 does not include an in-body AF motor. So if you have some older non-AF lenses, I’d recommend either the D90 or the D300. But I think you can still find the D200 on the used market.

Also, available on the used market, you could try looking into a D2X (though I’d still say the D300 has a definite edge over the D2X).

Where can I buy a used owner’s manual for a Nikon camera?

Posted by admin on December 5th, 2009 and filed under nikon camera | 4 Comments »

I need an owner’s manual for a Nikon 8008 camera.

Buy it from ebay or yahoo auctions.
Yahoo! auctions from Singapore has some particularly quirky stuff – you just might find the manual there, I’ve seen Nikon and Sony manuals being sold there before.
You can also go to Nikon’s web page and search. If all else fails, go to a camera shop and ask for the manual to be photocopied, where you bought the Nikon, or email Nikon’s help desk to ask for a PDA copy to be mailed to you.
Be sure to state the model number!
