is there a website for digital cameras?

Posted by admin on December 24th, 2009 and filed under latest digital cameras | 4 Comments »

Is there a website out there that has a good reviews and suggestions for digital cameras? also, i want good pricing. I want a website that has the latest and greatest cameras reviewed and updated.

yes, I should have an idea of what I want, but there are so many cameras out there, I don’t want to get one and find out that there a better one for the nearly the same price.

    any websites suggestions?

I was thinking about this camera ( http://wize.com/reviews/canon-powershot-sd1000-digital-camera ), but I don’t know if I truly want it.

Is canon the best for cameras?

Why was digital technology considered? Who first developed digital cameras?

Are digital cameras obsolete now that we have them on our phones?

Posted by admin on December 15th, 2009 and filed under latest digital cameras | 26 Comments »

I know digital cameras have more pixels but sooner or later….

I highly doubt it. Camera phones use a chip that’s smaller than a tic-tac to capture the image. This presents a few problems:

    A) Closely packed pixels – if the image collectors are too closely packed, they interfere with each other, causing what people incorrectly call "grain". In normally lit situations, the effect is less noticable, but not completely gone. The less light, the more interference is thrown out.

    B) Depth of Field – The smaller the image, the deeper the depth in field is and the less control you have over it. Ever notice that Camera Phones don’t focus? It’s because they don’t need to. It takes away an element of control from the photographer, as depth of field is highly useful in composing photographs.

    C) Zoom – Nearly all camera phones only use digital zoom. Digital zoom just takes a square from the center, crops everything around it, and guesses what the pixels in between would be. Hence, a greater breakdown of image quality.

Some of these could be remedied by using a larger chip, but that would require a larger phone, which is a no-no nowadays. The depth of field problem is the one that will be the hardest to remedy without using a larger chip, as it is all based on the behavior of light.

People really need to quit trying to force obselcense. And really, I like my phone to be a phone, my MP3 player to be a MP3 player, my portable game system to be a portable game system, and my camera to be a camera. I may have a phone with a camera, but I couldn’t imagine using it for anything other than embarrassing pictures for friends, and even that is iffy. I am usually not without my 35mm camera, so I don’t need to make that decision. I just like my tech to do one thing incredibly well rather than try to be everything at once and fail each and every time.

Edit: Yes, Bravo, Thumbs-downer. Bravo. We get it – you think camera phones make everything obselete. Now run along.

    good latest digital camera model?

Posted by admin on December 12th, 2009 and filed under latest digital cameras | 3 Comments »

what are the few digital camera models that are small and handy, but takes really good photos (like those almost as good as dslr)? and the best if the camera looks nice for a girl too

No such animal. No small cameras compare with Any DSLR. Not even close. Point and shoot sensors are too small compared to DSLRS.
Small cameras with very good image quality are the Canon SD780 IS and the Canon SD1200 IS.

Can anyone share some info on digital video cameras?

Posted by admin on December 5th, 2009 and filed under latest digital cameras | 1 Comment »

I was a late convert to digital with still pictures, now my wife and I are looking for a digital video camera. I would like to know how the numbers work as far as megapixels for the sensor and so on. I see a lot of different makes with different numbers but they don’t always run concurrent with price so I’m getting a little confused. Also, the recording format, I see DVD, mini DVD, Memory cards and hard drives. We want something that will play back in a standard dvd player but, also be able to put on to the computer to make our own dvd’s without any format conflicts. Thanks for any help!
