Is there a website to compare camera features?

Posted on January 24th, 2010 in compare camera by admin

I’m looking for a digital camera for my birthday, and I know cameras very well, but it’s been a long time since I’ve actually looked at what’s new in the market. Is there a website where I can put in the features that I want and then it gives me a good camera for my needs?
I want to be able to put in specific features and have it generate the camera I need.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7, FZ38 and GH1 comparison Test Video (V2)

Posted on January 11th, 2010 in compare camera by admin

A sequence of video sequences shot in parallel with the TZ7,FZ38 and GH1 to give comparisons of image size and quality at either end of the zoom range. Shot under a variety of outdoor and indoor lighting conditions these sequences should give enough information to enable an informed opinion to be made about the various parameters of each of the cameras. In addition to the Panasonic Lumix camera sequences a parallel sequence shot with the nikon D5000 with standard kit lens are included. It is possible to make benchmark conclusions about the Nikon quality from this video. The opening sequence is shot with a Nikon D90 with f1.8 50mm lens set at f2.8 to give some opinion as to the D90 video quality with a prime lens. Hand held stabilisation shots are included at full zoom on each camera. Sequences were shot outdoors and indoors under tungsten and fluorescent lighting to compare AWB operation.

Nintendo DSi unbox and Quick Review (Part 1 of 2)

Posted on January 3rd, 2010 in compare camera by admin

In this video, I open the box of my brand new Nintendo DSi (on camera!), do a quick over view of the system, and then finally compare it to my DS Lite.

EDIT: The aspect ratio is skewed! Sorry about that!

What do you think of this SLR camera compared to others?

Posted on December 24th, 2009 in compare camera by admin

I want to buy an SLR camera and I found one for a good price. It is a "Vivitar V3800N 35mm SLR Camera w/ 28-70mm Lens" tell me what you think of VIVITAR compared to other brands

It is a very generic 35 mm SLR. I will use Pentax K-mount lenses.

You can find some good used Nikon and Canon 35 mm SLR’s on craigslist for under $150 with a standard zoom lens. I have seen them for $50 with generic zoom lenses.

How does image quality of scanned photo prints compare with prints copied with a digital camera?

Posted on December 15th, 2009 in compare camera by admin

If you are starting with the print you are already at a disadvantage because of the dynamic range issues which are not directly related to the resolution (most scanners do not have enough sensitivity to capture both shadows and highlights). The best way to make a digital copy from an older photo is to start with a transparent negative or a slide – many labs have equipment to scan these (do not use regular scanner, even with a "slide" attachment!)
If you are limited to a printed photo a quality scanner will be easier to operate then a camera, but with some effort results will be comparable.
With the camera you have to ensure that plane of camera is parallel to the photo, stop down the lens to make sure everything in focus, and provide uniform lighting without color cast. Scanner takes care of all of that.

How the Digital Cameras work and what is the criteria to compare them. How to select the best digital camera?

Posted on December 12th, 2009 in compare camera by admin

(1)First compare the branding.. (normally ppl will buy cannon, becoz price is alright n affortable)
(Sony–>memory stick is "ex", if u want to get extra memory, u need to pay more compare to SD card or XD Card)
(panasonic–> not a camera maker company.
panasonic make gd electronics stuff like disc man)
(casio–>make gd calculater)
Get it??
(2)Second compare with ur budget..
(Get wat u need then wat u want)

(3)Third, Compare the function(Like wat u need n wat u dont need)(Like pixel, if u only want to develop 4r photo, u can choose pixel ard 5mp)(but if u wan to develop into Big photo size, u might need a higher pixel like 8 or more, so ur photo will not be blur after develop n stretch into a bigger size)

Is there a website where I can compare digital cameras and camcorders?

Posted on December 5th, 2009 in compare camera by admin

I’m looking to buy a digital camcorder or camera. But I’d like to compare them. My requirements are that it’s 5 preferably 7 MP or more and that it has a rechargeable battery. Anything beyond that I am flexible with. also price is a big issue with me. Is there a website out there where I can put in my requirements and they’ll show me a bunch of cameras and camcorders that match my requirements?

Good camcorders do not generally take high-megapixel stills.

Good still cameras that happen to take video store that video in a highly compressed MPEG2 or MPEG4 format. Lots of compression means not very good quality video.

www.cnet.com has ratings for both, but they are measured differently. www.camcorderinfo.com rate camcorders and has current pricing comparisons, but not still cameras and most of the camera rating sites do still cameras, but not camcorders…

Its a bit like comparing a Cadillac XLR to a Toyota Tundra. They are both vehicles, but should be used for different reasons, have different features and have different capabilities… I *could* try to haul stuff in the XLR, but I won’t be very happy with what it can haul compared to the truck… or I can try to go fast and corner in the truck – but I won’t be happy with what it can do compared to the XLR…

what is the most mega pixels available on camera?

Posted on December 2nd, 2009 in compare camera by admin

I want a new camera and was wondering what the highest mega pixel available is in your country? I live in Australia and the most common highest mega pixel camera availabe- through harvey norman, good guys, e.t.c.., is 7.2 mega pixels. I was curious if this is high or low compared to where you are from? Also anyone know where I can look up/ compare cameras, mobile phones? And if I buy a phone from another country how do I know if it will work back home in Australia?
I dont need a professional camera. A friend had a mobile phone with a camera that was 5 mega pixels and said he had seen ones with 10MP in Japan. Does anyone know where I can find a phone like this in Australia?

The largest megapixel rating that I’ve seen on a digital camera is 160MP for the Seitz 6×17 Panorama.
