Testing the Canon Digital IXUS 100 IS movie function in High-Definition
I have never owned a digital camera, and would like to buy a Canon Digital. I only need it for taking photos so I can put on my computer. I am not a professional so to speak and maybe 5, 6 pixels if ok with me. Can someone recommend a model number and what it might cost ? Thanks

It’s got 8.0-megapixels, a 4x optical zoom, an Optical Image Stabilizer and a large 2.5-inch LCD. A range of shooting modes – from manual to automatic including Canon’s new Easy Mode – make picture-taking carefree. A DIGIC III Image Processor with Enhanced Canon Face Detection assures natural-looking results, while Motion Detection Technology reduces blur.

I am thinking of getting a canon digital rebel xti but am worried that a new and better one might be introduced soon.
The Canon D40 will be on the wide market anytime soon. It has 10 megapixel just as the XTI, but it’s totally on a different class. The XTI is geared for a prosumer while the D40 is on a semipro class. If you have the budget, get the D40.
Otherwise, I think the XTI won’t be replaced until sometime next year.
