Teen girls wearing or buying UGGS?

Will u stop buying UGGS to save the sheep?

Ugg boot price upped by sheep-skin shortage -

The ugg boot has emerged as a bit of a high fashion item in some circles and now the price is upwardly mobile as well.

Prices have risen 150 per cent, largely because of a shortage of sheep skins with farmers holding onto their stock.

Graham Jackson, Managing Director of Jackson’s Tannery says the company hasn’t been able to source enough sheep skins, so they’ve had to fill their quota by using lamb skins which are 20 per cent dearer. “The local Australian market for footwear traditionally uses sheep but this year we’re unable to source (on a weekly basis) the sheep we require. Two thirds of our demand has had to come from lambs rather than sheep.”

do u feel sorry for the sheep?\

Will u stop buying them

How do you eat green and support local farms from a practical, day to day standpoint?

I recently watched the documentary “Food Inc” and was really disturbed by what I saw. I want to eat seasonally and buy food from local farms here in New Jersey, but it all seems so complicated. Either to have to buy a big amount (certainly of meats) or wait for the Farmer’s Market once or twice a week. Is there an easier way somewhere online to buy local, organic cruelty free food? I live in Hoboken.
Joanne, thanks for the honest answer.

NEED SERIOUS MATH STATISTICS HELP!?

I’m having a hard time in my stat class and don’t have any examples to go by. Please help me.

A tire manufacturer believes the tread life of its snow tires can be described by a normal distribution with a mean of 32,000 miles and a standard deviation of 2800 miles. Find the probability (rounding to tenth of percent) that a randomly selected tire will have a tread life:

a. that last at least 40,000 miles

b. that last less than 30,000 miles

c. that last between 30,000 and 35,000 miles

d. In planning a marketing strategy, a local tire dealer wants to offer a refund to any customer whose tires fail to last a certain number of miles. However, the dealer doesn’t want to take too big a financial risk with this guarantee. If the dealer is willing to give refunds to no more than 1 out of every 50 tires sold, for what mileage can he guarantee each tire to last ? (Round to the nearest whole number)

e. Find the probability that 150 randomly chosen tires will have a mean tread wear of greater than 35,000 miles ? (Round to tenth of a percent)

Can i use my ti 83 to solve. How do i know what formulas to use?

What types of advertising work best for local small businesses?

I own a local small insurance & financial services agency and would like to know what types of marketing are most likely to draw the interest of local households? (Postcards, office sinage, incentive programs, free coffee & doughnuts?)

Beginning college level statistics homework… Mean of 32,000 miles and standard deviation of 2,500 miles…?

A tire manufacturer believes that the treadlife of its snow tires can be described by a Normal model with a mean of 32,000 miles and standard deviation of 2,500 miles.

- If you buy a set of these tires, would it be reasonable for you to hope they’ll last for 40,000 miles? Explain.
- Approximately what fraction of these tires can be expected to last less than 30,000 miles?
- Approximately what fraction of these tires can be expected to last between 30,000 and 35,000 miles?
- Estimate the IQR of the treadlives.
- In planning a marketing strategy, a local tire dealer wants to offer a refund to any customer whose tires fail to last a certain number of miles. However, the dealer does not want to take too big a risk. If the dealer is willing to give refunds to no more than 1 of every 25 customers, for what mileage can he guarantee these tires to last?

I’m looking for more than just answers, I’m looking to learn how I can get to these answers in order to finish the rest of my assignment! Would love some help… even if you know how to do one section of this! Thanks for checking out my question!! :)

What is required in Missouri in order to sell homemade organic body products to the general public?

I know nothing is needed if I only sell to family and friends, but I’d like to expand. Hopefully sell to the general public online and in local markets.

Thanks for your advice!
Yeah, I just found out what is needing and well it doesn’t look like I’ll be selling any lotion. What about jewelry selling?

How could I market a simple local CD to MP3 Converting business?

I want to see if I can make some extra money with a local service converting cd’s to mp3s for people who might find that convenient. I’m thinking commuter bus riders, gym rats, older folks etc. But can’t come up with creative cheap (or free) ways to reach my target audience. Any ideas?

I’ve already gone over the legal aspects etc blah blah blah…
